Symptoms

Tender red skin; fever; superficial wrinkled desquamation; infant; positive Nikolsky; recent staph infection (umbilicus/ear)

Causes

Staphylococcus aureus phage group II; exfoliative toxins A/B; infants (renal immaturity).

Treatment

Anti-staph antibiotics (flucloxacillin/cefazolin); supportive; wound care; ICU if severe
