Lymphadenopathy; crusting; Yi Yu; nodule
Dolphin infection reports → aquatic saprobic life cycle. Low virulence; trauma-related. Traumatic implantation → brown/purple elastic nodule, no erythema; local spread/auto-inoculation; mild itch; resembles benign tumor/keloid; rare ulceration; lymphatic spread to nodes but no mucosal/visceral/bone involvement.
Supportive, rehabilitation therapy
Histology: inflammatory infiltrate, parakeratosis, acanthosis, no pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia; GMS shows chains of 7-14 µm (avg 9.5 µm) spherical cells connected by narrow necks; some in giant cells/macrophages.
