Specific Cardiomyopathy

Specific (secondary) cardiomyopathy is myocardial disease associated with a systemic condition (hypertensive, ischemic, valvular, metabolic, toxic, inflammatory, or infiltrative such as amyloidosis/sarcoidosis/hemochromatosis). Treatment: treat the underlying systemic disease; heart-failure therapy specific to subtype; treat arrhythmias; device therapy; prognosis depends on underlying disease.
