Common symptoms

休克、官爵银、肠鸣、结肠膨胀、便血、腹膜刺激征、腹痛、恶心、结肠梗阻、腹膜炎

The pathology of disease

Ischemic colitis is inflammation/injury of colon from hypoperfusion (usually left colon/splenic flexure), due to atherosclerosis, low flow, emboli, or vasculitis, presenting with acute abdominal pain, bloody diarrhea, and possible gangrene. Treatment: supportive care (NPO, IV fluids); broad-spectrum antibiotics; bowel rest; serial abdominal exams/imaging; surgical resection for gangrene/fulminant/perforation; treat vascular risk factors (atrial fibrillation/atherosclerosis); monitor for stricture; follow-up; avoid vasoconstrictors.

Common Symptoms

Acute abdominal pain; bloody diarrhea; left colon/splenic flexure; by hypoperfusion/emboli

Causes and Pathogenesis

Colonic hypoperfusion causes mucosal ischemia and possible gangrene.

Treatment

Supportive care; antibiotics; surgery for gangrene/perforation; treat vascular risk factors

Preventive Measures

Control vascular risk factors; avoid hypovolemia.
