Popliteal Aneurysm

普外科

Common symptoms

腘动脉搏动减弱或消失、肢端溃疡、运动功能障碍、间歇性跛行、肢体发凉

The pathology of disease

Popliteal aneurysm is the most common peripheral arterial aneurysm, often bilateral and associated with abdominal aortic aneurysm. It may be asymptomatic or cause distal embolism/thrombosis leading to limb ischemia. Treatment: elective repair (open bypass/endovascular) for aneurysms >2 cm, symptomatic, thrombosed, or embolic; acute limb ischemia - urgent thrombectomy/revascularization; screen for contralateral popliteal and abdominal aortic aneurysm; control atherosclerosis risk factors.

Common Symptoms

Pulsatile popliteal mass; distal embolism/thrombosis; limb ischemia; often bilateral/associated AAA

Causes and Pathogenesis

Atherosclerotic degenerative dilatation of the popliteal artery with mural thrombus and distal embolism risk.

Treatment

Elective repair for >2 cm/symptomatic; urgent revascularization for acute ischemia; screen associated aneurysms

Preventive Measures

Screen associated aneurysms; control atherosclerosis; repair before thrombosis.
