Pseudoaneurysm (false aneurysm) is a contained rupture of an artery with blood bounded by surrounding tissue, not all three vessel layers; most often iatrogenic (after catheterization), traumatic, or mycotic. Clinical: pulsatile mass, pain, risk of rupture/thrombosis/embolism. Treatment: ultrasound-guided compression or thrombin injection for small iatrogenic pseudoaneurysms; endovascular embolization/stenting; surgical repair for large/complex/mycotic; treat infection; control anticoagulation if applicable.
