Lumbar hernia is protrusion through the lumbar triangle (superior Grynfelt or inferior Petit), rare, usually acquired, presenting with flank bulge. Treatment: elective surgical repair (open/laparoscopic mesh); watchful waiting if small/asymptomatic; urgent repair if incarcerated/strangulated; treat risk factors (weight loss/ascitudes); postoperative care; follow-up to detect recurrence.
