Renal aneurysm is focal dilatation of the renal artery or its branches, associated with fibromuscular dysplasia, atherosclerosis, or dissection. It is often asymptomatic. Treatment: control BP; monitor size; embolization or surgical repair for large (>2 cm), symptomatic, ruptured, or FMD-related aneurysms; pregnancy counseling for women of childbearing age; follow-up imaging.
Asymptomatic; hypertension; flank pain if ruptured; associated with FMD/atherosclerosis
FMD/atherosclerosis causes focal arterial dilatation, with rupture risk.
Control BP; monitor; embolize/resect large/symptomatic/ruptured/FMD aneurysms
