Bladder fistula

Bladder fistula is fairly common clinically; it may communicate with skin, bowel or female genital organs, and the primary disease is often extragenitourinary. Common causes: ① primary bowel disease: diverticulitis 50%-60%, colon cancer 20%-25%, Crohn disease 10%; ② primary gynecologic disease: pressure necrosis from dystocia, advanced cervical cancer; ③ after hysterectomy, low cesarean section or tumor radiotherapy; ④ trauma. Necrosis/erosion of malignant tumors of colon, small bowel, vagina and cervix and severe bladder injury may form a perivesical abscess that ruptures to the perineum or abdomen.

Common Symptoms

Voiding disorder; vesicovaginal fistula; Yan Tie; frequency; bladder irritation signs; abdominal wall tension; poor voiding

Causes

Necrosis/erosion of malignant tumors of the colon, small bowel, vagina and cervix and severe bladder injury cause a perivesical abscess that may rupture to the perineum or abdomen; vaginal surgery may accidentally injure the bladder.

Treatment

Surgical repair, treat primary disease

Prevention

Treat pelvic malignancy and avoid surgical bladder injury.
