上肢外展上举困难、剧烈疼痛、上肢无力
Calcific tendinitis is a type of tendinitis referring to the deposition of calcium salts within a tendon; it is most common in the rotator cuff tendons of the shoulder, mainly affecting active people aged 30-50, and has a higher incidence in diabetic patients. Calcific tendinitis does not necessarily cause symptoms, and when pain occurs it mostly resolves within 1-4 weeks. Areas of relatively poor blood supply within the tendon may undergo fibrocartilaginous transformation, and patients are generally asymptomatic during this phase.
Difficulty abducting and lifting the upper limb; severe pain; weakness of the upper limb
The cause of calcium salt deposition is currently unclear; it may be related to factors such as tendon degeneration, ischemia and hypoxia, and increased local pressure. Calcific tendinitis follows a certain pathological process divided into three phases: the pre-calcific phase, the calcific phase, and the post-calcific phase.
Supportive treatment, rehabilitation therapy
For the prevention of this disease and to help patients recover better after illness, patients may recuperate as follows: 1. Let the muscle rest, but avoid resting for too long to prevent muscle atrophy. 2. If the tendinitis is caused by sports, changing the sport is a worthwhile option. 3. A massage bath can help raise body temperature and promote blood circulation. 4. A warm, damp towel can be used to hot-compress the knee area. 5. Stretch the muscles more often in daily life and before exercise.
It is recommended to visit the orthopedic surgery department; before the visit you may first book an appointment and connect with experts through this platform.
