Endometrial polyp

Endometrial polyps are common gynecologic lesions from local endometrial overgrowth, showing as single or multiple smooth masses projecting into the cavity with varying stalk length. They cause irregular bleeding and infertility. Common from reproductive to postmenopausal age. Cause is unclear, thought related to endocrine disorder; ultrasound is main diagnosis, hysterosalpingography more sensitive, hysteroscopy the gold standard; hysteroscopic polypectomy is first-line but recurrence is common.
