Cervical eversion

Cervical laceration in delivery may be unilateral, bilateral or stellate, varying from mild to vault-deep. Without timely surgical repair, later scar contraction everts the cervical canal, exposing the cervical mucosa, forming cervical eversion. Large unrepaired lacerations heal by firm fibrous scarring with a relaxed external os, often infected causing edema, congestion, enlarged hypertrophied cervix.
