Vaginal leukoplakia is also called vulvar white lesion, vulvar leukoplakia, vulvar white lesion, hyperplastic vulvar leukoplakia or vulvar dystrophy. It is actually tissue degeneration and pigment change from local neurovascular nutritional disturbance of the vulva. Clinically, whitening/thickening or atrophy of local vulvar skin and mucosa is collectively called vaginal (vulvar) leukoplakia.
