Dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea is spasmodic lower abdominal pain around or during menses with general discomfort, seriously affecting daily life. It divides into primary and secondary. Detailed gynecologic exam finding no pelvic abnormality is primary (functional); obvious genital lesions such as endometriosis, pelvic inflammation or tumor are secondary.

Common Symptoms

Diarrhea; qi stagnation blood stasis; lower abdominal dragging pain; abdominal pain; lumbar ache; dizziness; fatigue; nausea; lower abdominal pain; breast pain

Causes

Prostaglandins and organic pelvic lesions.

Treatment

NSAIDs, treat cause
