Vulvar lipoma is a benign tumor of mature adipocytes, usually on the labium majus as a subcutaneous bulge, mostly sessile, soft, sometimes lobulated.
Dyspareunia; firm mass
(1) Etiology: from labial/mons pubis fat; linked to lipid metabolism disorder. (2) Mechanism: subcutaneous labium majus; variable size, mostly small polypoid (up to 17cm reported); broad base, soft, round/lobulated; well-demarcated, encapsulated, yellow cut surface. Microscopy: mature adipocytes; fibrous septa; fibrous tissue predominance = fibrolipoma; capillary proliferation = angiolipoma.
Surgery, drug, supportive therapy
(1) Treat lipid metabolism disorder; diet control. (2) Fresh fruit/veg; light low-salt diet; steaming/stewing; limit fatty meat.
