斜视、视力障碍、复视
Phoria is a latent ocular deviation kept controlled by fusion, manifesting only when fusion is broken (cover test) or decomensating with fatigue/illness. Types: exophoria, esophoria, hyperphoria. Most small phorias are asymptomatic. Treatment: reassurance/orthoptic convergence exercises; prism for symptomatic decompensated phoria; strabismus surgery only for large symptomatic deviations refractory to conservative measures.
Astighenia/eye strain after near work; headaches; diplopia if decompensates; deviation on cover test
Binocular imbalance is held latent by fusion, decomensating under fatigue.
Orthoptics/convergence exercises; prism if symptomatic; surgery if large refractory
Orthoptic exercises; visual hygiene.
It is recommended to visit the Ophthalmology/Strabismus department; an appointment can be booked on this platform before the visit.
