Chronic Rhinitis

Chronic rhinitis is nasal inflammation lasting >3 months, either allergic (seasonal/perennial) or nonallergic (vasomotor/atrophic/drug-induced), presenting with nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, sneezing, and postnasal drip. Treatment: classify allergic vs nonallergic; intranasal corticosteroids; antihistamines; saline irrigation; avoid irritants/decongestant overuse; treat atrophic (lubrication/antibiotic ointment); treat structural causes (deviated septum/turbinate hypertrophy) surgically if needed.
