Pharyngeal keratosis (keratosis pharyngealis) is benign hyperkeratosis of tonsillar/pharyngeal lymphoid tissue, presenting with white horny projections on tonsils/pharynx, usually asymptomatic. Treatment: reassure; saline gargles; maintain oral hygiene; treat infection if present; tonsillectomy/excision if symptomatic/recurrent; differentiate from leukoplakia/diphtheria/moniliasis; biopsy if atypical.
