Symptoms

Otitis; retro-orbital pain; abducens (VI) palsy; diplopia; fever; complication of otitis media/mastoiditis

Causes

Spread of otitis/mastoiditis to petrous apex; bacteria.

Treatment

IV antibiotics; surgical drainage; otolaryngology/neurosurgery; image-guided
