Causes and Pathogenesis

(1) Etiology: C. coronatus. (2) Pathogenesis: anterior turbinate swelling; slow progression, occasionally rapid; bilateral; painless destruction. Hyphae 8 µm avg, regular septa, thin wall, surrounded by bright radiating granular eosinophilic material (2-6 µm, finger-like/star-like, resembles asteroid body); no vascular invasion.

Treatment

Drug therapy, supportive therapy

Preventive Measures

Avoid tropical rainforests; protective measures if unavoidable.
