Seborrheic Dermatitis

Seborrheic dermatitis is chronic inflammatory dermatitis in seborrheic areas (scalp/face/eyebrows/nasolabial folds/chest), linked to Malassezia, presenting with erythema and greasy scales. Treatment: topical antifungals (ketoconazole shampoo/cream; ciclopirox); mild topical corticosteroids; topical calcineurin inhibitors (tacrolimus/pimecrolimus); emollients; selenium sulfide/zinc pyrithione shampoo; avoid irritants/stress; treat HIV/Parkinson if associated; follow-up.
