Prurigo

Prurigo is group of pruritic papulonodular dermatoses (acute/chronic/simplex/nodular), from atopic/STRESS/systemic causes, presenting with intensely pruritic papules/nodules on extensor surfaces. Treatment: identify/treat underlying cause; antihistamines; topical corticosteroids; systemic steroids for severe; phototherapy; dapsone/retinoids/biologics for refractory; prevent scratching; treat xerosis; follow-up.
