Vulvar Eczema

Vulvar eczema is pruritic eczematous dermatitis of vulva (atopic/contact/irritant/candidal), presenting with pruritus, erythema, scaling, and lichenification. Treatment: emollients; mild topical corticosteroids (short course); topical calcineurin inhibitors (tacrolimus/pimecrolimus); oral antihistamines; avoid irritants (soaps/pads/underwear fabrics); treat candidiasis (nystatin/azole); identify contact allergen (patch testing); keep dry; follow-up gynecology/dermatology; rule out lichen sclerosus/neoplasia.

Causes and Pathogenesis

Atopy/contact/irritant/candida causes eczematous vulvar inflammation.

Treatment
