皮肤科

Common symptoms

脱发、鳞屑

The pathology of disease

Pityriasis amiantacea is asbestos-like shiny adherent scalp scaling (secondary to seborrheic dermatitis/psoriasis/tinea capitis/atopic dermatitis), presenting with thick silvery scales encasing hair shafts, possible scarring alopecia. Treatment: antiseborrheic shampoos (ketoconazole/selenium sulfide/zinc pyrithione); topical corticosteroids; keratolytics (salicylic acid); oral griseofulvin/terbinafine if tinea capitis; treat underlying cause; monitor for scarring alopecia; follow-up dermatology.

Common Symptoms

Asbestos-like adherent scalp scaling; hair-shaft encasement; possible alopecia

Causes and Pathogenesis

Scalp inflammation (seborrhea/psoriasis/tinea) causes thick adherent scaling.

Treatment

Antifungal/antiseborrheic shampoos; topical steroids; treat underlying cause

Preventive Measures

Treat scalp dermatosis early; gentle hair care.
