Miliaria

Miliaria (heat rash) is sweat-retention eruption in hot humid weather, with subtypes: crystallina, rubra (prickly heat), profunda, pustulosa. Treatment: keep cool/dry; light breathable clothing; cool showers; emollients; topical corticosteroids for itching; oral antihistamines; avoid occlusive clothing/heavy oils; treat secondary infection; follow-up dermatology; distinguish from folliculitis/contact dermatitis.
