Striae distensae (stretch marks) are linear atrophic bands (striae rubrae: red-purple early; striae albae: white mature) on abdomen/breasts/thighs/buttocks/hips, from pregnancy/rapid weight gain/adrenal Cushing/corticosteroid use. Treatment: reassurance; topical retinoids (tretinoin) for early; hyaluronic acid; vitamin C; laser (pulsed-dye/ fractional CO2); microneedling; chemical peels; control weight; evaluate/treat Cushing's; discontinue systemic corticosteroids if possible; follow-up dermatology; monitor progression.
