Treatment: intralesional corticosteroids (triamcinolone) + 5-FU; silicone gel sheets; pressure therapy (earlobe); cryotherapy; laser (pulsed-dye for erythema); surgical excision + adjuvant (radiation/intralesional steroids/5-FU) to prevent recurrence; avoid trauma/piercing; follow-up dermatology/plastic surgery; monitor recurrence; psychosocial support.

Hypertrophic scar beyond wound margins; chest/shoulder/jaw/earlobes; pruritic/tender

Causes and Pathogenesis

Excessive collagen deposition after trauma/inflammation forms keloid beyond margins.
