Colloid Milium

Colloid milium is small 1-5 mm amber/translucent papules on sun-exposed face/dorsal hands in adults (actinic colloid) or children (juvenile/colloid degeneration), from solar damage/chemical exposure. Treatment: reassurance; strict sun protection; cryotherapy; electrodessication/laser ablation; topical retinoids; surgical excision for large; avoid sun/chemical exposure; follow-up dermatology; distinguish from molluscum/w/xanthoma/gouty tophus.

Causes and Pathogenesis

Solar damage/chemical exposure causes colloid (degenerated collagen) deposition in papules.

Treatment
