Blue nevus, also called benign mesenchymal melanoma, blue neuronevus, chromatophoroma, melanofibroma, or Jadassohn-Tieche blue nevus, is a benign tumor of blue nevus cells. Three types: common, cellular, combined. Common blue nevus is large, progressive, rarely benign nodal metastasis. Congenital or acquired; on skin, oral mucosa, cervix, vagina, spermatic cord, prostate, lymph nodes. May malignant-transform.
Papule; nodule; cyst-like plaque
Melanocyte aggregation (30%): caused by abnormal dermal melanocyte aggregation; rare, often associated with pigmented nevi, cardiac myxoma, mucocutaneous myxoma (LAMB syndrome), nodular mastocytosis. Neural crest anomaly (35%): EM/AChE suggests Schwann cell/neural origin, but melanin synthesis indicates melanocytic origin; benign proliferation of abnormal neural crest pigment cells.
Drug therapy; supportive care; surgery
Etiology unclear; early detection/diagnosis/treatment; reduce Ota nevus complications; antibiotics for infection.
It is recommended to visit the dermatology department; before the visit you may first book an appointment and connect with experts through this platform.
