Symptoms

Slapped-cheek rash; lacy reticular rash on trunk; mild fever; children; arthralgia in adults; aplastic crisis risk

Causes

Parvovirus B19; respiratory transmission; replicates in erythroid precursors.

Treatment

Supportive; IVIG for immunocompromised/aplastic crisis; avoid pregnancy exposure; monitor
