吞咽困难、声音嘶哑、呼吸困难
Benign oropharyngeal tumors are uncommon. Gray-white/pale-red papillomas may be seen on uvula/soft palate/palatine arches/tonsil surface. Fibromas occur on tonsil/soft palate/posterior pharyngeal wall: round, smooth, firm. Neurolemmoma originating in deep neck may appear as elliptical submucosal bulge on lateral pharyngeal wall. Common types: papilloma, fibroma, retention cyst, mixed tumor, hemangioma; rare: lipoma/lymphangioma/teratoma. Small tumors surgically excised; papillomas can be lasered. Papillomas recur; cauterize wound with 50% silver nitrate post-op. Larger/palpable neurolemmoma: cervical approach; laser/cryotherapy also.
Dysphagia; hoarseness; dyspnea
Smoking/alcohol strongly linked to oropharyngeal cancer; most patients have these habits.
Surgery, drug, supportive therapy
Smoking/alcohol are major risk factors; drinking raises risk; heavy smoking + spirits multiply risk. Many head/neck cancers linked (oral/laryngeal/hypopharyngeal). Quit bad habits.
