(1) Etiology: mesodermal misarrangement in primitive lymph sac formation → failure to connect with venous system/lymphatic trunk → lymphatic circulation disorder. (2) Mechanism: primitive lymph sacs drain into central veins; failure to connect → cavernous lymphangioma. Histology: multiloculated cysts, thick walls, lymph-filled, rich connective-tissue stroma, compressible.
