内分泌科

Common symptoms

驻站医、生长激素分泌过少、异常矮小、生长缓慢

The pathology of disease

Dwarfism is short adult stature, conventionally below about 120 cm, resulting from genetic, endocrine, or skeletal causes. Etiologies: achondroplasia (most common disproportionate dwarfism), growth-hormone deficiency, congenital hypothyroidism, Turner syndrome, rickets, skeletal dysplasias, and chronic systemic disease. Diagnosis: growth-chart crossing, bone-age delay, proportional vs disproportionatemeasurements, endocrine workup. Treatment targets underlying cause (GH, thyroxine); genetic counseling; psychosocial support.

Common Symptoms

Short stature; disproportion limbs/trunk; delayed growth; facial/skeletal features; associated endocrine signs

Causes and Pathogenesis

Genetic skeletal dysplasia, endocrine hormone deficiency, or chronic disease impairs linear bone growth.

Treatment

Recombinant GH for GH deficiency/Turner; thyroxine for hypothyroidism; supportive/orthopedic care; genetic counseling

Preventive Measures

Regular growth monitoring; newborn screening for hypothyroidism; balanced nutrition.
