Adenovirus pneumonia is viral pneumonia due to adenovirus, most common in children/young adults/immunocompromised, presenting with fever, cough, dyspnea, infiltrates, and risk of severe disease/ARDS. Treatment: supportive care; oxygen; mechanical ventilation for ARDS; ribavirin/cidofovir in selected severe cases; treat secondary bacterial infection; isolate; fluid management; monitor complications (bronchiolitis obliterans).

Adenovirus infects alveolar epithelium, causing viral pneumonia and risk of ARDS.
Supportive care/oxygen/ventilation; antivirals in severe; treat bacterial superinfection; isolate
