Sinoatrial Reentrant Tachycardia

Sinoatrial reentrant tachycardia is paroxysmal SVT due to reentry within the sinus node/right atrium, often seen in older patients with structural heart disease or after atrial surgery. Clinical: regular narrow-complex tachycardia, abrupt onset/offset. Treatment: acute - vagal maneuvers/adenosine; beta-blocker/CCB for prevention; catheter ablation for frequent/symptomatic cases; treat underlying structural disease.

Common Symptoms

Palpitations; paroxysmal regular narrow-complex tachycardia; older/structural heart disease

Causes and Pathogenesis

Reentry circuit within sinus node/right atrium causes regular tachycardia.

Treatment

Vagal/adenosine acute; beta-blocker/CCB; ablation for frequent; treat structural disease

Preventive Measures

Treat structural heart disease; monitor.
