Cholesterolosis of gallbladder is deposition of cholesterol-laden macrophages in gallbladder wall, producing a strawberry-like mucosal appearance, often associated with gallstones/cholesterol polyps. Treatment: observation if asymptomatic; low-fat diet; laparoscopic cholecystectomy for symptomatic biliary colic or large/suspect polyps; monitor for polyp growth/malignancy; follow-up ultrasound.
