Acute tubular necrosis

肾内科

Common symptoms

昏迷、肾小管坏死、腹泻、食欲不振、氮质血症、抽搐、恶心、多尿、少尿、肌肉萎缩

The pathology of disease

Acute tubular necrosis (ATN) is the commonest type of acute renal failure, about 75%-80%. It is a clinical syndrome of acute, progressive renal decline from renal ischemia and/or nephrotoxic injury.

Common Symptoms

Coma; tubular necrosis; diarrhea; anorexia; azotemia; convulsions; nausea; polyuria; oliguria; muscle atrophy

Causes

Causes are traditionally acute renal ischemia and acute nephrotoxic injury, though intravascular hemolysis and infection are also common, sometimes coexisting. Acute renal ischemia is the commonest type of ATN, from prolonged prerenal ischemia and hypoxia: major bleeding or transfusion in chest/abdominal surgery, shock and its correction, cardiopulmonary bypass, renal transplant reperfusion and resuscitation are all ischemia-reperfusion conditions.

Treatment

Supportive treatment, dialysis

Prevention

Avoid renal ischemia and nephrotoxins, maintain perfusion, and monitor renal function in high-risk patients.

Recommended Department

It is recommended to visit the nephrology department; before the visit you may first book an appointment and connect with experts through this platform.
