Common symptoms

斑丘疹、咽痛、腹泻、食欲减退、腹痛、鼻塞、低热、恶心、颈部淋巴结肿大

The pathology of disease

Infectious lymphocytosis is an acute lymphoproliferative disease of unclear etiology; mainly children <10 (peak 2-5), rare adults. WBC elevated with relative/absolute lymphocytosis, prolonged, mild non-specific symptoms; often incidental on CBC.

Common Symptoms

Papulomacular rash; sore throat; diarrhea; anorexia; abdominal pain; nasal congestion; low fever; nausea; cervical lymphadenopathy

Causes and Pathogenesis

(1) Etiology: unknown, likely viral. Olson 1964: Ad-12 from URT; Horowitz: EVU-16 enterovirus in 21% of stools; no EB/CMV/HSV antibodies; Cox A/Echo7/Cox B antibodies detected. (2) Pathogenesis: lymph node biopsy shows follicular degeneration and sinus histiocytosis.

Treatment

Asymptomatic blood-count-only: rest/nutrition, self-resolving; symptomatic: supportive.

Preventive Measures

Rest; balanced life; positive attitude.
