Common symptoms

脾肿大、湿疹、淋巴结肿大、粒细胞减少、口腔溃疡、免疫缺陷、脱发、反复感染

The pathology of disease

Lymphocytopenia is defined as peripheral blood lymphocyte count below normal (adults <1.0x10^9/L). Causes: immunosuppressive therapy, radiotherapy/chemotherapy, infection (HIV, viral), autoimmune disease, malnutrition, advanced age, congenital immunodeficiency. It impairs cellular/humoral immunity and predisposes to opportunistic infection.

Common Symptoms

Causes and Pathogenesis

Causes: (1) decreased production (marrow disease, severe protein-calorie malnutrition); (2) peripheral destruction/sequestration (HIV, radiation, steroids, autoimmune); (3) loss (intestinal lymphangiectasia).

Treatment

Treat underlying cause; IVIG; infection prophylaxis; PCP prophylaxis when CD4 low

Preventive Measures

Early treatment of underlying disease; avoid immunosuppression; nutrition support.
