Colorectal trauma is injury to colon/rectum from penetrating trauma/iatrogenic; peritonitis; sepsis; emergency surgery; stoma/primary repair.

Abdominal pain; peritonitis; after gunshot/stab/iatrogenic; fever; sepsis; rectal bleeding

Causes

Penetrating trauma; blunt; iatrogenic (colonoscopy); impalement.

Treatment

Resuscitation; IV antibiotics; surgery (primary repair vs diversion/stoma); ICU; colostomy if contamination
