Stress urinary incontinence

泌尿外科

Common symptoms

打喷嚏、小儿遗尿

The pathology of disease

The International Continence Society (ICS) defines stress incontinence as involuntary urine leakage through the external meatus on increased abdominal pressure such as sneezing, coughing or exercise. Urodynamics show involuntary leakage during filling cystometry with raised abdominal pressure and a stable detrusor, not from detrusor contraction or wall tension. Clear factors: age, childbirth, pelvic organ prolapse, obesity, race and heredity. Feature: no enuresis at rest but involuntary leakage on sudden abdominal pressure (coughing, laughing, sneezing, jumping, lifting).

Common Symptoms

Involuntary leakage on sneezing, coughing or exertion

Causes

Age, childbirth, pelvic organ prolapse, obesity, race and heredity weaken the urethral sphincter and pelvic floor support.

Treatment

Pelvic floor training, weight loss, surgery

Prevention

Pelvic floor exercises, control weight, avoid chronic cough.
