Phimosis is a narrow preputial orifice or post-inflammatory adhesion preventing retraction to expose the glans. It is congenital or acquired; congenital is atrophic or hypertrophic; acquired follows inflammation/trauma causing adhesions. With penile growth and erection, congenital foreskin may retract on its own to expose the glans.
Polyuria; purulent discharge; dysuria and retention; penile pain
Failure of mild epithelial adhesion between inner prepuce and glans to absorb leaves the foreskin non-retractable; some children have a very small orifice hindering development.
Circumcision
Keep the prepuce clean; circumcision when needed.
It is recommended to visit the andrology department; before the visit you may first book an appointment and connect with experts through this platform.
