Redundant prepuce

Redundant prepuce means the penile skin covers the glans so it is not fully exposed after adulthood. It can cause sexual dysfunction and even affect ejaculation; some cause prostatitis and infertility. Men should have circumcision early. If non-inflamed, frequent retraction and cleaning may avoid surgery. Circumcision before marriage is recommended for phimosis/redundant prepuce; keep local hygiene before and after intercourse and avoid vigorous motion to prevent paraphimosis or frenulum tear.

Causes

The foreskin covers the glans, accumulating smegma and predisposing to inflammation.
