Inflammation of the glans mucosa is balanitis, caused by various pathogens and local irritation. Balanoposthitis is inflammation of the inner prepuce and glans. A normal lipid secretion accumulates as smegma under redundant prepuce/phimosis, irritating the prepuce and glans. Drug-allergy balanitis is a delayed hypersensitivity, common, appearing 24-72 hours after the drug.
