Malignant Spermatic Cord Tumor

Malignant neoplasm of spermatic cord is ~30% of spermatic cord tumors; includes rhabdomyosarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, liposarcoma, vas deferens papillary carcinoma, fibrosarcoma, leiomyosarcoma. Rhabdomyosarcoma most common, highly malignant; fibrosarcoma/leiomyosarcoma relatively lower-grade.

Common Symptoms

Rapid growth; painless intrascrotal mass; scrotal enlargement

Causes and Pathogenesis

Malignant tumors destroy tissue/organ structure/function, cause necrosis/bleeding/infection, eventually organ failure. Carcinogens: physical (X-ray, ionizing radiation); chemical (nitrosamines in pickled/overnight food, aflatoxins); viral (HBV, herpes).

Surgery, drug, rehabilitation

Preventive Measures

Diet: avoid spicy/warm/dry/greasy foods; middle/late cancer = deficiency/cold, use spleen-stomach warming/qi/blood foods; avoid cold foods. No masturbation, no holding urine, no prolonged sitting, no excess sex. Regular follow-up. Stop smoking/alcohol; balanced diet; balanced mood.
