Post-hepatitis syndrome: autonomic nervous disturbance after viral hepatitis recovery; also convalescent hepatitis syndrome. Most heal in months; minority have persistent fatigue/anxiety/insomnia/anorexia/right hypochondrial discomfort unrelated to liver function; liver biopsy normal.

Causes and Pathogenesis

After acute viral hepatitis (A/B/C most common); neurotic personality; psychosomatic; responds to explanation/psychotherapy; related to autonomic dysfunction.
