Cubital-tunnel syndrome is entrapment of the ulnar nerve at the elbow (cubital tunnel), the second most common upper-limb entrapment neuropathy. Clinical: numbness/tingling in the little finger and ulnar half of ring finger, elbow tenderness, and hand intrinsic-muscle weakness. Risk factors: prolonged elbow flexion, leaning on elbows, osteoarthritis. Treatment: elbow padding/splinting (avoid flexion), activity modification; surgical decompression/medial epicondyle transposition for severe cases.
Little/ring-finger numbness; elbow tenderness; hand intrinsic weakness; worse with elbow flexion
Compression of the ulnar nerve at the cubital tunnel (elbow) causes ulnar-distribution sensory/motor deficit.
Elbow pad/splint (avoid flexion); activity modification; surgical decompression/transposition if severe
Avoid prolonged elbow flexion/leaning; elbow pad; ergonomics.
It is recommended to visit the Orthopedic Surgery department; an appointment can be booked on this platform before the visit.
