Secondary dysmenorrhea is menstrual pain from pelvic organic disease; pelvic and auxiliary exams often find the cause. It has demonstrable pathology. Endometriosis is the commonest cause; a few are from cervical stenosis (after cone biopsy, cryo/electrocautery) or adenomyosis; pain occurs when the uterus tries to expel tissue through the cervix, e.g. a pedunculated submucosal fibroid or endometrial polyp.
Progressive dysmenorrhea
Endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, pelvic inflammation.
Treat underlying cause
Treat pelvic disease early.
It is recommended to visit the gynecology department; before the visit you may first book an appointment and connect with experts through this platform.
