Oligohydramnios means amniotic fluid under 300 ml in late pregnancy. Ultrasound diagnostic criteria: AFI under 5 cm or deepest pocket under 2 cm. Early/mid oligohydramnios often ends in abortion. The fluid is thick, turbid, dark green. Earlier rate ~0.1%; with widespread ultrasound, detection is 0.5%-4%, rising.
