ELRIG helps middle-aged scientists manage leadership, career transitions and redundancies.

Recently, there have been a number of recent developments in the field of international medical health, and the industry and the public continue to pay attention to these developments. I am the Chairman of the ELRIG Middle Ages Task Force. I have previously been a member of the Board of Directors of ELRIG and have been involved in the Engagement Strategy Working Group.

Our task force brings together volunteers from several different ELRIG working groups because supporting mid-career professionals is a natural work across many areas of the organization. We are not a single task force, but a cross-functional task force focused on identifying how ELRIG can better support this important part of our community. Having participated in ELRIG's many years of activities, I have witnessed the organization's multifaceted support for early-career scientists and middle-aged scientists who are willing to contribute in the same way.

My own experience, and seeing many talented colleagues running out of time to tackle redundancy and professional uncertainty, make this initiative of particular significance to me. ELRIG Drug Discovery was developed by ELRIG in dialogues within several working groups and the board itself. Over the past few years, ELRIG has invested heavily in the work of supporting early professionals, which is undoubtedly right.

Building such a community has been very successful and the enthusiasm for early professional projects is excellent.
